Trendwatch: The Color Purple

Baby Phat RTW Fall 08 adfasdf There's no doubt that bold and bright colors are oh so in, but one hue is emerging as a major player for '08: purple. The color purple was a trend on the horizon in the latter part of 2007 (remember I tipped you off in my 2007 in Review post?) but Fashion Week has only reaffirmed the number of designers that have envisioned 2008 through a cloud of purple haze. The "it" new hue has been popping up all over the runways, from Nicole Miller to Baby Phat to Reyes, in a number of shades, fabrics and silouhettes. Let's take a look at some of the purple-icious Fall 2008 looks that have graced the runways this week: Badgley Mischka DKNY Hervé Léger Abaeté Diane Von Furstenburg Reyes Elie Tahari Lacoste Rag and Bone James Coviello Rachel Roy Tuleh Oscar de la Renta Rock and Republic As you can see, pairing it with gray, black or even another bright is all the rage.
